Homeland Security chief Mullin warns illegal voters will be hunted down and prosecuted
The New York Times reports immigration agents did not turn out in force at polling places, though administration officials repeatedly warned of consequences.

Secretary Markwayne Mullin warned on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3, that people who vote illegally will be found and prosecuted. In a post on X, he said DHS "will find you, hunt you down" and that only American citizens should decide American elections. The New York Times reports that immigration agents were not present in large numbers at polling places, while Trump administration officials repeatedly warned noncitizen voters of consequences.
According to the Daily Signal, Homeland Security Investigations announced arrests of a Finnish national in Philadelphia and a Philippine national in Tulsa, accused of voting in earlier elections. It also says the sent about 1,000 election monitors across the country. an Election Day threat from Trump's DHS chief
The Daily Beast opens with Mullin's X post, which it calls an "Election Day decree" aimed at anyone who tries to "vote illegally," and notes it came as Americans headed to the polls. It places the warning within the administration's focus on noncitizen voting, calls the theory that Trump did not truly lose 2020 "debunked," and says Trump offered no proof for his claim of "approximately 278,000 noncitizens" registered. By its count, roughly 236 people have faced charges tied to voting fraud since the second Trump term began, and it says there is no evidence noncitizen voting has ever swayed U.S. elections.
It adds that nearly 60 million early ballots have been cast and that DHS and the White House had not responded to its request for comment. The New York Times headline reads "'We Will Find You': Trump Officials Pledge to Arrest Noncitizen Voters." It reports that immigration agents were not at polling places in large numbers, but that administration officials repeatedly warned of consequences for noncitizen voters.

enforcement against noncitizen voting continues through Election Day
The Daily Signal's headline, "'HUNT YOU DOWN': Crackdown on Illegal Voters Continues Up to Election Day," places Mullin's post within a run of enforcement news. It reports Homeland Security Investigations arrests of a Finnish national in Philadelphia and a Philippine national in Tulsa for allegedly voting in earlier elections, and says 239 people have been charged since January 2025, with 195 aliens charged in the past nine weeks. It quotes Todd Blanche on restoring confidence in elections and Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon on the "largest monitoring effort in DOJ history."
It adds that the NAACP and other liberal groups have sued over federal officers as monitors, and that 1,996 monitors were deployed in 2004. Just the News frames Mullin's post as a reminder that voting without citizenship is illegal, coming after Nevada charges against five foreign nationals who were in the country legally. It also reports the Ninth Circuit ruling that lets DOJ resume its efforts in the California dispute over 20,000 suspected noncitizens.
