The change comes days after Republicans lost both and the in Tuesday's elections. Trump called Miller "one of my most trusted advisors" and told reporters he "wanted to make a change." Miller, 41, is best known as the driving force behind the administration's immigration crackdown.
On X he wrote that "The mission now is more clear than ever." House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries called him a "reckless extremist." Retiring Republican Sen. Thom Tillis called the pick a "colossal mistake," while Utah Sen. Mike Lee praised Miller.
