Three Alexander brothers each sentenced to 30 years in prison for sex trafficking
Tal Alexander, 40, and twins Oren and Alon Alexander, 39, were each sentenced Tuesday to 30 years in prison. U.S. District Judge Valerie Caproni imposed the terms in a federal court in New York. A jury convicted the three in March on sex trafficking-related charges.
Prosecutors said the brothers used their wealth and luxury travel to draw women in, then drugged and raped them. Prosecutors had asked for life terms. The defense had asked for the 15-year minimum.
Women who say they were victims spoke at the hearing. The Independent counts 11 speakers plus one statement read by a prosecutor. BBC News reports 12 victims, one of whom did not testify at trial.
The brothers addressed the court and denied drugging or raping anyone. Their lawyers argued the sex was consensual, according to BBC News and Fox News. The Independent and Fox News report that prosecutors say at least 70 women were assaulted.
Tal and Oren Alexander worked in luxury real estate. Alon Alexander worked at the family's private security company. All three were arrested in 2024 and held without .
UPI reports fines of $300,000 each for Alon and Oren, $350,000 for Tal, plus 10 years of supervised release. BBC News and Fox News give different lengths for the trial.

The Independent centers its account on the sentencing hearing and the women who spoke. It opens with the 30-year terms and says 11 accusers addressed the court, with some choking up as they described nightmares and fear of men. It quotes several of them at length.
One is Lindsey Acree, an artist and gallery owner, who described a 2011 incident at a Hamptons home. She said a drink left her feeling paralyzed and named Tal Alexander and a second man as her attackers. The piece gives each brother's statement.
Oren Alexander said he regrets how he talked about women but that they never broke the law. Tal Alexander asked to share a prison with his brothers. Alon Alexander said no woman has accused him during his eight years with his wife.
It reports prosecutors' claim of at least 70 women assaulted over two decades, and remarks by Assistant Elizabeth Espinosa. It notes the judge's view that the brothers should be held apart. Defense lawyer Howard Srebnick called a life term a "death in prison sentence."

BBC News leads with the sentences and the judge's words from the bench. Caproni told the brothers "Your conduct was monstrous" and asked how someone who never acknowledged wrongdoing could be rehabilitated. It reports that 12 victims were heard, quotes Maya Miller and a woman using the name Isa Brooks, and relays one woman's account that Tal Alexander threatened her by saying he knew where her sister worked.
It notes the brothers showed little emotion, that their attorneys cited their roles as fathers, and that 20-year terms on other counts will run at the same time. UPI is more procedural. It lists the 10 counts, the fines and the supervised release.
It also mentions the 2024 civil lawsuits and the public relations consultants who had worked with Harvey Weinstein and Sean "Diddy" Combs. The Journal reports the sentences and the sex trafficking convictions of Tal and Oren Alexander, described as once-highflying luxury brokers, and their brother Alon.
NewsNation reports that the three were convicted of drugging and raping women they drew in with money and a lavish lifestyle.

Fox News presents the sentencing of three brothers, two of them luxury real estate brokers, convicted in what it calls a yearslong sex-trafficking scheme. It opens with the sentences and describes them as the end of a "stunning downfall." It lists the counts of conviction.
It relies on The Associated Press for the accusers' statements, including Lindsey Acree's question "Why did you do this?" It also quotes Oren Alexander's denial. Later it covers the brothers' careers, including a nearly $240 million penthouse sale in 2019 that it says was then the most expensive U.S. residential sale.
It notes that Alon Alexander worked at the family's security company. It draws on the trial record. Prosecutor Andrew Jones told jurors the brothers used "a consistent playbook."
After the verdict, U.S. Attorney Jay Clayton described the conduct as "calculated, brutal sexual abuse." It says prosecutors alleged at least 70 victims. It says defense attorneys argued the encounters were consensual and accused prosecutors of overreach.
