Police arrest teenager after 12 hurt in shooting near Florida A&M game
Police say the teen faces 11 attempted-murder counts, that a fight came first, and that no victim appears to have been the target.
Tallahassee police arrested a 15-year-old on Sunday over a shooting the night before in Florida. It happened around 8 p.m. Saturday near Bragg Memorial Stadium, after Florida A&M University's homecoming football game. Twelve people were hurt.
Eleven were shot and one injured an ankle while running away. BBC, the Daily Wire and the Daily Caller name the teen as Anthony Rivers III. He faces 11 counts of attempted second-degree murder and a gun charge, listed by police as possession of a firearm by a delinquent.
Police said a fight broke out beforehand among people who knew one another. Investigators do not believe any victim was the target. More arrests are possible.
Tallahassee Police Chief Lawrence Revell said on Sunday that six victims were still in hospital, one in critical condition, and five had been released. BBC, the Daily Wire and the Daily Caller report that six victims were minors. According to Fox News, it is not yet clear how many people fired shots or how large the teen's role was.
The New York Times reports that officials say he will be tried as an adult.

BBC News builds its report on police statements. It places the shooting at 20:00 local time near a Tallahassee football stadium, where a university game had just ended. It counts eleven people hit by gunfire, one more with an ankle injury, and six victims who were children.
It names the teen as Anthony Rivers III and lists his charges. It relays police statements that a fight among acquaintances preceded the gunfire, that no victim appears to have been targeted, and that further arrests are possible. It quotes Police Chief Lawrence Revell on a celebration weekend turning into a night of fear, and on officers carrying victims in their arms through the game crowds.
It gives Sunday's hospital figures: six still in hospital, one in critical condition, five released. The report does not include comment from the university or local residents.

Fox News, the Daily Wire and the Daily Caller draw heavily on police statements and quote Chief Lawrence Revell at length. Fox stresses that the investigation is open: it is unclear how many people fired or what the teen's role was. Fox also lists the police tip line.
The Daily Caller says six victims were adults, six were juveniles, and three were seriously hurt, citing a preliminary report. The Daily Wire adds local voices. Vendor Stephanie Walters says she is unsure about returning next year.
FAMU President Marva Johnson calls the shooting senseless and says counseling will be offered. The university says it happened near campus, not on it. Coach Quinn Gray says no child should be caught in gunfire.
All three report that police credited public tips and digital evidence for moving the case forward. None of the three mentions the adult-trial report.
